The court found the 49-year-old man guilty of premeditated murder (Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
He was sentenced to 11 years in prison, it is reported prosecutor’s office of the Kharkiv region.
On April 2 of this year, the man, having unexpunged and outstanding convictions, committed a new crime.
This time it’s intentional murder.
The tragedy happened on the station square at the “Lykhachove” station in the city of Pervomaiskyi.
An argument broke out between the two men, during which the assailant pulled out a knife he was carrying and used it to stab his opponent more than 10 times in the head and neck.
As a result of his injuries, the 34-year-old victim died on the spot.
After committing the crime, the murderer fled from the scene, but he failed to hide from justice – he was exposed by law enforcement officers.
During the trial, the man admitted his guilt.
The guilty verdict was handed down by the Pervomaysky City District Court of the Kharkiv Region.
There is currently an appeal period.
