Before the start of the war, Maxim was sent to visit his grandparents in the village of Liptsi, Kharkiv region. It was then that the occupiers invaded the territory of Ukraine and seized the settlement. The boy remained in the occupation, there was no way to take him out.
The mother of 7-year-old Maksym and he himself experienced the most terrible months in constant worry, because the woman could not take the child from the occupied territory or come.
After the liberation of the settlement, police units of the Kharkiv region began their work in the de-occupied territories.
On September 15, while working in the village of Liptsi, the juvenile prevention staff of the Kharkiv District Police Department No. 2 of the National Police Service in the Kharkiv Region learned about 7-year-old Maksym.
It was immediately decided to help the family. The boy was taken to Kharkiv the same day and handed over to his mother.
