On September 4, traffic was opened on the Kyiv-Chop highway via the bridge in Stoyanka over the Irpin River, which was destroyed at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia.
This was reported by the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine.
“An important infrastructural bridge has been opened on the M-06 Kyiv-Chop highway. Today, traffic on the bridge in Stoyanka across the Irpin River has been opened and all four lanes have been opened for motor vehicle traffic.”the message says.
It is noted that the launch of full traffic will allow to increase the carrying capacity of the bridge for vehicles. In addition, it will improve communication between settlements in the Kyiv region.
The right passage of the bridge was repaired in a short time. Already in November 2022, traffic was restored. But the left side had to be rebuilt literally from scratch. Concrete structures, according to experts, could not be restored.
Both passages of the bridge have successfully passed the test. A total of 19 bridges have been restored throughout Ukraine since the beginning of the year. Construction work continues on more than 60.
We will remind you that in April near Chernihiv the bridge across the Desna was restored. In August, it was reported how many Ukrainians joined the Army of Reconstruction.
