According to the interlocutor, at first the issue of putting the entire text of Putin’s decree under the heading “for official use” was discussed – representatives of the Ministry of Defense were in favor of this. Later, it was decided to declassify only the seventh point, which talked about the number of those who should be mobilized.
“The number was corrected several times, and in the end they stopped at a million”– the source of the publication reported.
It will be recalled that the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Serhii Shoigu announced that 300,000 people are going to be mobilized. According to him, mobilization involves the conscription of only those “who have served and have a military accounting specialty.”
British intelligence believes that Putin took a political risk by announcing the mobilization in Russia.
At the same time, experts say that Putin can call up as many reservists as he wants, but Russia has no way to provide them with training and weapons in the near future.
