In support of the public indictment by the prosecutors of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the court found a militant of the so-called “DPR” guilty of violating the laws and customs of war committed by a group of persons (Part 1 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Prosecutors proved in court that on February 23, during general mobilization, the man was drafted into the ranks of the so-called “DNR” army to participate in hostilities against Ukraine on the side of the Russian Federation.
In March of this year, the militant was in the village of Ruski Tyshki, Kharkiv district, which at that time was under the control of Russian servicemen.
He received an order from a representative of the 13th branch of the 25th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces to break into the house of a man who, according to Russian intelligence, was passing on the coordinates of the location of the occupiers in the indicated village to the Ukrainian military.
The militant broke into the house and robbed the owners. The intruder took their personal belongings and precious jewelry with him, causing material damage in the amount of almost 400 thousand hryvnias.
The “DPR” fighter sincerely repented at the court hearing.
On December 26, the Kotelevsky District Court of the Poltava Region issued a guilty verdict and sentenced the soldier to 9 years in prison.
Currently, the term for appealing the verdict continues.
