On Monday evening, September 11, Yan Tabachnyk, a musician-accordionist and former People’s Deputy of Ukraine, died in Israel at the age of 78.
The death of the ex-deputy was reported by journalist Dmytro Gordon on the page of Instagram.
According to his words, Jan Tabachnyk passed away yesterday at 20:10 after a long illness.
According to social networks, Tabachnyk died in a clinic in Tel Aviv, where he was undergoing treatment. He has been battling cancer for the past two years.
It is worth noting that he is an Honored and People’s Artist of Ukraine. He was also a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the 5th-7th convocations and was a member of the committee to combat organized crime and corruption.
- In 2006, he was a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the 5th convocation of the “Party of Regions”.
- In 2007-2012, he was a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the 6th convocation. Since 11.2007 from the “Party of Regions”.
- In 2012-2014 — Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the 7th convocation.
Tabachnyk was born in 1945 in Chernivtsi. He started playing the accordion at the age of 10, and in three years the artist was already performing in front of the public. Tabachnyk was the president of the Higher League of World Accordion Meters, and in 1994 he was awarded the title of People’s Artist of Ukraine.
It will be recalled that Oleksandr Senchenko, the temporary attorney for Ukraine, died in Armenia.
Former People’s Deputy Serhiy Slabenko also died at the front. And later, Serhii Ilnytskyi, a deputy of the Kyiv City Council from the European Solidarity party, also died in the war.
