A man who “mined” the building of the President’s Office will be tried in Kyiv. He explained his actions by the fact that he was “too often” turned off the light, informs press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

An indictment was sent to the court on the facts of knowingly false reports about the preparation of an explosion in a government building (part 2 of article 259 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The article provides for four to eight years in prison.
According to the prosecutor’s office, on November 28, 2022, the accused made two calls to the police and reported about the “mining” of the office building.
“He made these reports out of dissatisfaction with the fact that, in his opinion, the lights were turned off too often in his apartment,” the UCP reported.
Law enforcement officers detained a 51-year-old man, he is now in custody. A telephone was found in the apartment, from which calls were made to line 102, as well as communist symbols and St. George ribbons. The man claims that they belong to his elderly mother.
