The petition calling for a veto on the draft law adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on the restoration of mandatory electronic declaration received the required number of votes.
This is evidenced by the data on the petitions page at the president’s website of Ukraine.
As of 8:50 p.m., almost 30,000 people supported the petition.
It is worth noting that the proposal was registered on the president’s website only a few hours ago.
The author of the petition noted that the deputies, by leaving the information about the property of officials closed for another year, “deprived citizens and journalists of a tool for monitoring the actions of officials and the main safeguard against corruption during the war.”
We will remind you that draft law No. 9534 on the restoration of electronic declaration for officials was adopted on September 5. At the same time, the Council failed amendment No. 371 on the immediate opening of officials’ declarations – it received only 199 votes.
Later it became known which of the People’s Deputies voted against the important amendment. President Volodymyr Zelenskyi has already answered the question about whether he will sign the law without amendment.
