The director of the department of the Sumy City Council Oleksandr Zhurba, who was detained while receiving a bribe together with the mayor of Sumy Oleksandr Lysenko, was released on bail in the amount of almost 1.5 million hryvnias. Recently, Lysenko was also released on bail.
This is reported by the publication “Public”with reference to the press service of the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
As noted, the official will have to hand in his passports, wear an electronic bracelet and not leave Sumy without permission.
The prosecutors asked for Zhurba to be detained with a bail of UAH 5 million. The official’s lawyer requested a preventive measure not related to detention.
We will remind, the mayor of Sumy, Oleksandr Lysenko, was accused of receiving a bribe in the amount of 2.13 million hryvnias. In addition, suspicion was also announced to the mayor’s accomplice, the director of the Infrastructure Department of the Sumy Region.
According to the investigation, the mayor of Sumy, Oleksandr Lysenko, together with the director of the infrastructure department, Oleksandr Zhurba, demanded an illegal benefit for resolving the issue of establishing by the executive committee of the city council for a legal entity a new economically justified tariff for handling household waste and not creating artificial obstacles in the enterprise’s business activities.
The court arrested Lysenko with an alternative bail of 3 million hryvnias. The deposit was made on October 5.
And on Monday, October 9, Lysenko was suspended from his post.
In addition, yesterday law enforcement officers searched the Mukachevo mayor Andrii Baloga.
