Almost a year without electricity: energy companies have connected villages almost on the border with the Russian Federation

The villages of Duvanka and Tsiluriky of the Zolochiv community have light again.

Both settlements have been cut off since the beginning of the full-scale war. On January 18, the press service of “Kharkivoblenergo” reported on the connection of electricity in the villages.

“In order to restore light to these territories, energy workers restored dozens of spans of 10 kV and 0.4 kV lines, replaced damaged insulators and repaired wires severed as a result of hostilities,” Oblenergo reported with reference to the head of Zolochiv REM, Vitaly Oliynyk.

He noted that they could not restore electricity to people earlier, because they were waiting for the sappers to carry out demining of the territories. The weather conditions sometimes hindered the engineers. “It was difficult for the equipment to drive through the mud and plowed fields,” Olijnyk explained.

In the near future, energy workers working in the Zolochiv community plan to restore electricity in the villages of Sosnivka and Gur’iv Kozachok. Currently, more than 100 consumers remain without electricity in the community.
