Under the procedural leadership of the Kupyan district prosecutor’s office of the Kharkiv region, an 18-year-old young man was notified in absentia of suspicion for publicly insulting the small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine (Part 1 of Article 338 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The pre-trial investigation established that at the end of June 2022 near the cultural center in the village of Petropavlivka, Kupyan district, the suspect, who heads a pro-Russian youth organization, along with other persons crushed the small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine.
The suspect and another person climbed up to the facade of the building on a mobile crane and started hitting the state symbol with a hammer.
After that, the suspect threw parts of the coat of arms on the ground with particular cynicism, “showing off” his actions to the camera.
Currently, other persons involved in the criminal proceedings are being established.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Chief of Police of the Kupyan district police department of the National Security Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region.
