An explosion in the Ivano-Frankivsk region – an oil pipeline ruptured in the village of Strymba


According to preliminary information, three people were injured.

An oil pipeline burst near the village of Strymba, Nadvirnyan district, Ivano-Frankivsk region. As a result of the incident, a fire broke out

Oleksandr Khorunzhiy, the spokesman of the State Emergency Service, said in a comment to UNIAN that “an oil pipeline burst with spillage of oil products along the stream.”

According to him, three victims are currently known. He also informed that rescuers are working at the scene of the incident.

“Near the village of Strymba, Nadvirnyan district, an oil pipeline (diameter 150 mm) burst with subsequent spillage of oil products along the stream on an area of ​​100 square meters and a fire, with the fire spreading to a private house,” – said in the message of the State Emergency Service

It is noted that the valves on the oil pipeline are currently closed. Rescuers are working on the spot.

In February 2020, the State Environmental Inspectorate of the Carpathian District noted that it had received a telephone message from the “Nadvirnanaftogaz” PJSC “Ukrnafta” that a part of the oil pipeline had been stolen in the territory of the village of Pasichna, Nadvirnyan district, Ivano-Frankivsk region, as a result of which the oil mixture had leaked onto the surface land

Then, due to depressurization of the pipeline, the oil mixture spilled onto the surface of the soil and into the Bezymenny stream near the Kremenosa tract in the territory of district 54 of the Pasichnyansk Forestry of the State Enterprise “Nadvirnyanske LG”. The approximate area of ​​the contaminated land plot was 120 m2, oil products got into the water.
