At least 67 people have died in wildfires on the Hawaiian island of Maui


The death toll from wildfires on the Hawaiian island of Maui has risen to 67, but Hawaii Governor Josh Green has warned that there will be more.

As reported Sky Newsit is already clear that this is the deadliest natural disaster since Hawaii became an American state in 1959, the publication writes Babel.

The fire on the island destroyed thousands of buildings.

The former capital of Lahaina burned to the ground. The fire around the city was contained by 85%, and on the island in general – only by 50%.

Investigators are currently trying to establish the cause.
