As of 8:30 p.m., the law enforcement officers specified that the driver was informed of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense and was served with a request to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention.
Earlier it was reported that the accident happened around 00:30. According to the police, the driver of the Honda car was moving along the M-01 highway in the direction of Brovarsky prospect in the second traffic lane out of the three available. Through the fog ahead, he saw a truck and braked sharply.
In the future, the driver lost control and drove into the far right lane, where he ran into a 47-year-old serviceman, whom he served at the checkpoint. The victim died at the scene from his injuries.

Investigators detained the driver of the Honda. The police established that the 45-year-old driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident.
As write RBC-Ukraine, referring to its own sources, says that the driver of the car that caused the fatal accident in the Dnipro district of Kyiv is a private lawyer.
It also became known that the dead 47-year-old man was a serviceman of the voluntary formation of the territorial community.
Kyiv police investigators have started criminal proceedings under the article on violation of traffic safety rules or the operation of transport by persons driving vehicles. A pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
On October 23, the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office reportedthat the Shevchenkivskiy District Court of Kyiv chose the culprit of the traffic accident at the roadblock with fatal consequences as an alternative preventive measure in the form of detention for a period of two months.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
- On June 11, a road accident occurred near the checkpoint on the way out of Kyiv in the direction of Brovary, in which a serviceman of the Voluntary Formation of the Territorial Community was killed. According to the investigation, the car was driven by a law enforcement officer.
