Today, September 1, the Polish Mi-24 military helicopter allegedly violated the Belarusian border, flying to a depth of 1,200 meters in the Grodno region.
This was announced by the State Border Committee of the Republic of Belarus on its Facebook page.
“On the afternoon of September 1, Belarusian border guards recorded a violation of the airspace of Belarus by Poland in the Berestovitsa district of the Grodno region”the message says.
Minsk said that the Mi-24 helicopter of the Armed Forces of Poland crossed the state border at an extremely low altitude, flew to a depth of 1,200 meters into the territory of Belarus, and then turned back.
“The Polish side has been informed about this incident”– the Committee added.
It is worth noting that two Belarusian Mi-8 and Mi-24 combat helicopters violated the state border of Poland the day before. They flew over one of the Polish villages during “training”.
The Ministry of Defense of Poland confirmed the incident and instructed to strengthen the protection of the border with Belarus. Combat helicopters have been deployed near the border and are ready to open fire if necessary.
As a reminder, Poland, together with the Baltic states, is ready to take concrete steps in case of serious incidents on their borders. In case of provocations from Minsk, the country will close all border crossing points between Belarus and Europe.
