Intelligence officials say the Russians continue to seek to consolidate control over the occupied territories of Ukraine in order to undermine the legitimacy of the Ukrainian state. They mentioned the decree of the Russian dictator Vladimir Putinwhich simplifies obtaining Russian citizenship for Ukrainians.

Anti-Russian sentiments in the territories occupied by the Russian Federation lead to the persecution of Russian officials and collaborators – the British cite the murder of Gauleiter Veliky Burluk in the Kharkov region, who was blown up in a car on July 11, as an example.

Persecution of collaborators in the occupied territories is likely to intensify, exacerbating the serious problems of the Russians, as well as potentially increasing pressure on already reduced military formations, according to British intelligence.

  • On the morning of June 24, a car exploded in Kherson. RosSMI reported that a Gauleiter, a former activist of the banned pro-Russian Sharia party, had died.
  • On July 3, Ukrainian partisans blew up the railway bridge between Melitopol and Tokmak, the explosion occurred in the occupied village of Lyubimovka.
  • On July 11, in the temporarily occupied village of Veliky Burluk, a local collaborator, Gauleiter Yevgeny Yunakov, was liquidated.
