This was reported by the British Ministry of Defense in twitter.
British intelligence draws attention to the fact that Ukraine continues its offensive in the northeast, and Russian troops have established a defensive line between the Oskil River and the city of Svatove in the Luhansk region. Russia likely considers maintaining control of the area important, as it passes through one of the few major supply routes that Russia still controls from Russia’s Belgorod region.
In addition, this line runs along the border of the Luhansk region, which Russia has declared as one of its immediate military targets.
“Any significant loss of territory in Luhansk region will clearly undermine the Kremlin’s strategy. Russia will probably try to conduct a sustained defense of this area, but it is unclear whether Russian forward forces have sufficient reserves or the appropriate morale to withstand another Ukrainian offensive,” they concluded in British intelligence.
- On September 16, Deputy Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Tymoshenko said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine de-occupied 421 settlements in the Kharkiv region.
