Canadian Defense Minister Bill Blair said the funds would go to a British-led partnership buying air defense equipment to help Ukraine repel Russian missile and drone attacks.
«The partnership, which also includes the US, the Netherlands and Denmark, plans to purchase hundreds of short- and medium-range air defense missiles and related systems“, the message says.
Blair notes that this contribution is part of military aid to Kyiv worth 500 million Canadian dollars, which the country announced in June of this year.

In addition, as part of the new aid package, Germany handed Ukraine two launchers of the short-range IRIS-T SLS anti-aircraft missile system.
