Erdogan appointed a new Turkish ambassador to Ukraine – Ukrainian news, Politics


The duties of the Turkish Ambassador to Ukraine are assigned to Mustafa Levent Bilgen, according to the published official message about destination.

President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan approved the appointment to the post of Ambassador to Ukraine – career diplomat Mustafa Levent Bilgen.

From 2007 to 2009, Bilgen was Special Advisor to the Secretary General of the National Security Council of Turkey. Then he headed the Turkish embassies in Canada and the USA, and from 2014 to 2016 he was ambassador to the United Arab Emirates. Since 2017, he worked as an adviser to the State Department of Turkey, in 2018–2019 – as an adviser to the decommunization commission of the House of Representatives of Foreign Affairs.

The fact that Bilgen is expected to be appointed Ambassador of Turkey to Ukraine became known on July 16.
