“The road to get there will still be long and, of course, sometimes difficult, but we are doing our best to support Ukraine in the process of harmonizing its legal system and standards with EU standards, thereby paving the way for accession,” Burbock said.
At the same time, the diplomat said that the EU also needs to do “its homework”, as it is necessary to think over a mechanism on how to make decisions in the enlarged union.
“That’s why we support reforms, for example, the use of a qualified majority voting system in a number of issues,” the German Foreign Minister summed up.
