The German government is preparing a winter package of military aid for Ukraine. The main emphasis in it will be on air defense equipment.
This is stated in statement German Ministry of Defense.
Thus, the Armed Forces will receive an additional Patriot air defense system, IRIS-T SLM and SLS complexes, as well as three Gepard anti-aircraft systems.
In addition, the German authorities will provide Ukraine with vehicles, weapons and personal equipment worth more than 20 million euros. The total cost of the aid package will exceed 1 billion euros.
The Ministry of Defense hopes that this weaponry will strengthen the Ukrainian air defense system before winter and help protect critical infrastructure.
In addition, they noted that 10 more Leopard 1 A5 tanks, 15 armored vehicles and 20 medical vehicles will arrive in Ukraine in the coming weeks. At the same time, the Ministry of Defense did not specify which aid package includes equipment – this or one of the previous ones.
We will remind that in mid-September, Germany announced the provision of a package of military aid worth 400 million euros. It included 200 MRAP armored combat vehicles, 480 AT2 rocket launchers, 50 surface drones, demining systems, and generators.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the country named priority directions in military aid to Ukraine.
