Hamas fighters released the first group of Israeli hostages from the Gaza Strip. Civilians were accompanied by representatives of the Red Cross.

According to the latest information, Hamas released 13 people. They travel in medical vehicles to the Rafah checkpoint, located between the enclave and Egypt.

Then the prisoners of Hamas are to be delivered to Israel. They are expected to undergo examinations at a number of medical centers.

Militants of the Palestinian group have already confirmed the handover of 13 hostages to Israel. Hamas is expected to release several more groups of civilians in the near future.

It is also noted that today Israel must release 39 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the return of the first Israelis.

It will be recalled that today at 7 a.m. a four-day ceasefire between the Israeli army and the Hamas group came into force. The agreement was concluded with the mediation of Qatar.
