Under the procedural leadership of the Izyum district prosecutor’s office of the Kharkiv region, a 29-year-old man was notified of suspicion of collaborative activity (part 7 of article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, during the occupation of Balaklia, the man actively cooperated with representatives of the Russian Federation.
A 29-year-old local resident agreed to the occupiers’ offer and voluntarily took the position of “patrolman” in a pseudo-law enforcement agency.
Thus, the collaborator guarded administrative buildings, the market and “monitored” public order so that the “new government” felt at ease in the city.
After the deoccupation of Kharkiv Oblast, the pseudo-patrolman was exposed. The suspect is currently in custody.
The pre-trial investigation is conducted by the investigators of the State Security Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region under the operational support of the employees of the Izyum district department of the SBU Office in the Kharkiv region.
