Hungary plays the role of a “Trojan horse” for Moscow in both NATO and the EU

This became known on the air of the “Espresso” TV channel.

“This is a shameful story. It is obvious that today Hungary plays the role of a “Trojan horse” for Moscow both in NATO and in the EU. They understand this perfectly, but for now, unfortunately, they refrain from taking drastic steps, still hoping that it can be fixed with softer tools,” Ogryzko believes.

The diplomat noted that it seems to him that everything that could be done badly by Budapest, they have already done.

“And here is the last of Orbán’s statements, where he said that under any circumstances they are not going to allow Ukraine to advance either to the EU or to NATO. That is, the issue here is not at all about national minorities, not about laws on education. These are all formal reasons that enable Budapest to pursue this anti-Ukrainian and pro-Moscow policy. And in this context, the appointment of the ambassador is a logical step on the part of Budapest, they are friends with Putin, they are friends with Lukashenka,” he emphasized.

Ogryzko also noted that at some point “collective Brussels and the EU and NATO will have to draw conclusions.”

  • We will remind that on Thursday, September 28, the ambassador of Hungary to Belarus, Zita Ilona Benchyk, presented the credentials to the self-proclaimed president Oleksandr Lukashenka, who is under sanctions for complicity in the war with Ukraine.
