In Kharkiv, more than 850 people fell ill with flu and SARS in one week

In Kharkiv, 856 people fell ill with flu and acute respiratory viral infections last week, 44% of them were children under 17 years of age.

This was reported by the Department of Health with reference to the Kharkiv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

In particular, 97 laboratory-confirmed cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus disease were registered over the past week.

The department noted that compared to last week, the incidence of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections decreased by 4.25%. The incidence rate is 60.5 per 100,000 population, which is 85.4% below the epidemic threshold and corresponds to a low level of intensity of the epidemic process.

It was also reported there that 57 people were hospitalized last week, 11 of whom were children.
