In the Kharkiv region, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed and blocked a channel for the distribution of literature that promotes the ideas of Russian imperialism, inciting inter-ethnic enmity, and propagandizing the cult of violence and cruelty.
Employees of the special service documented illegal activity local residents of Kharkiv, who, under the guise of carrying out commercial activities for the sale of literature, established a sales channel for propaganda literature published on the territory of the aggressor country.
The perpetrators sold literature to local residents and via the Internet. The purpose of their activities was an attempt to inflame anti-Ukrainian sentiments among Kharkiv residents.
The security service is taking measures aimed at establishing the entire circle of consumers and distributors of “Kremlin” propaganda in Ukraine.
So far, the persons involved in the case have been notified of the suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 300 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (“Import, manufacture or distribution of works promoting the cult of violence and cruelty, racial, national or religious intolerance and discrimination”) under the procedural guidance of the Saltiv District Prosecutor’s Office.
For the commission of the specified crime, the perpetrators face imprisonment for a term of three to five years.
The detection of the offense was carried out by the employees of the Department of Security of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region together with the employees of the National Security Service in the Kharkiv region.
