In Lviv, a resident of Kharkiv threw two grenades at the police News of Kharkiv and Ukraine

In Lviv, police officers are establishing the circumstances of an attempt to kill police officers while on duty.

Today, around 2:00 p.m., the police received a report that an unknown man was behaving aggressively, clinging to passers-by, threatening them with a grenade on Bilogorska Street in Lviv. It is reported police of Lviv region.

Employees of the Patrol Police Department in the Lviv region arrived at the indicated address. At the scene, they found a man who behaved inappropriately, threatened to use a weapon, and did not respond to the remarks of the law enforcement officers. Instead, the attacker threw one grenade in the direction of the law enforcement officers, and the second – in the interior of the official car, after which he hid in the house.

No one was injured as a result of the grenade explosion.

The investigative and operative group and other employees of the police department No. 1 of the Lviv district police department No. 2, as well as explosives specialists of the Lviv region police, immediately arrived at the scene. Law enforcement officers established the identity of the intruder, a 24-year-old resident of the city of Kharkiv, as well as his 29-year-old brother, who was hiding in the house.

Investigators are working at the scene, the issue of detaining the brothers is being resolved in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial division of the police opened criminal proceedings under Article 348 (Attack on the life of a law enforcement officer, a member of a public organization for the protection of public order and the state border, or a military serviceman) and Part 1 of Article 263 (Illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosive substances) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanctions of the articles is life imprisonment.
