Less than 60,000 residents remain in the temporarily occupied Melitopol of the Zaporizhia region. The Russian occupiers managed to force only 20% to participate in the pseudo-referendum.

The mayor of the city, Ivan Fedorov, told about it on the air of the national telethon.

“Less than 60,000 of the 150,000-strong population are now in the territory of temporarily occupied Melitopol and are hostages of Russia. For the third day, the occupiers are trying to make this farce in the form of a referendum, but they are not succeeding. But this will have little effect, because we understand that the results have already been drawn”he noted.

The invaders knew the results of the “referendums” already at the beginning of September – the interception of the SBUThe Security Service made public the conversations of residents of the temporarily occupied territories who have relatives in the leadership of the so-called LDNR.

It was possible to force these 20% of citizens to vote within three days. According to the mayor, only 10% voted “for” joining the Russian Federation. However, they do it not of their own free will, but under the muzzles of machine guns.

According to Fedorov, the “referendum” is part of the information war, in order to then forcefully mobilize people in the occupation.

We will remind that on September 23 pseudo-referendums started in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. They will continue until September 27.

The occupiers with weapons are forcing the residents of Melitopol to participate in the “referendum”, which is being held on the occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region. Those who refused to vote are threatened with deportation.
