Moldovan police fined a man who attacked journalist Marianna Pankiv near the Russian embassy on October 1. This is stated in the police report on the fact of the appeal, informs “Glavkom”.
“We inform you that as a result of the inspection, the identity of the attacker was established, which turned out to be Black Viktor, whose actions contained the elements of the offense provided for in Article 354 (petty hooliganism – ed.) of the Code of Offenses. For this fact, he received a fine,” it is said in the response of the police inspectorate to the appeal on the fact of the attack.
The police did not say what fine the attacker will pay.
The incident occurred on October 1 during a protest outside the Russian embassy in Chisinau, when an unknown person knocked the phone, which was being filmed, out of the journalist’s hands. The man demanded to stop the protest action, which was legitimate, coordinated in advance with the city authorities and held at an exclusively permitted time.
