In the police of Odesa clarifiedthat three local boys, 14, 16 and 17 years old, were passing through the freight park of the Slobidka station of the Odesa Railway to shorten the route.
“Two teenagers, who climbed onto the train for fun, were electrocuted, as a result of which the youngest of the teenagers died on the spot, his 16-year-old friend was hospitalized with burns. The third youth, who was an eyewitness to the accident, was not injured,” the law enforcement officers said. .
The police noted that information about the incident was entered into the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations under Part 1 of Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine with the note “accident”.
“Currently, measures are being taken to establish all the circumstances of the incident,” the police added.
About the incident wrote State Emergency Service of Odesa region.
“Today, at 1:10 a.m., the Rescue Service received a message from 103 on duty that in the village of Slobidka, Podilsky District, help was needed to remove children from the wagon,” the message reads.
It is noted that when rescuers arrived at the scene of the call, they found that the teenager had been electrocuted. Rescuers removed the boy’s body with the help of a three-legged ladder, a rope and a stretcher.
Teenagers born in 2006 and 2007 were also injured as a result of the incident. They were hospitalized in a serious condition.
