In the Novosibirsk region of Russia, on the morning of September 12, the Ural Airlines plane made an emergency landing in a field. According to preliminary information, this happened due to the failure of the hydraulic system in flight.
This is reported by the Russian mass media.
The Airbus-A320 plane was flying from Sochi to Omsk. During the flight, the crew informed controllers about the malfunction and requested landing at the alternate airfield, but did not arrive there. As a result, the pilots landed the plane 180 km from Novosibirsk.
There were 167 people on board, including 6 crew members and 23 children. As a result of the emergency landing, no one was injured.
After the emergency landing, Russian law enforcement officers initiated a criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic safety rules and operation of air transport).
According to “Interfax”, the emergency landing could have been caused by a “critical problem that did not allow the flight to continue”: “Currently, among the main versions, the failure of one of the engines and a possible fire are being considered.”
