At the meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander, held on November 24, the issue of demobilization of conscripts whose term of service has already ended was discussed.

Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security Council, said this on the air Ukrainian Radio.

According to him, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed to demobilize this category of servicemen at the Stavka, and the commanders of the Armed Forces agreed to this.

“A lot of attention was paid to the issue in order for us to fairly deal with the issue of enlisting in our army those people we need for the country’s defense capability. As for the mobilization of the people who were in military service, the president asked and the military agreed that these people will be demobilized in the near future. This process will take place and we understand how many there are.” Danilov said.

He added that conscripts who wish to remain in the army after the end of their service can sign a contract with the Armed Forces. The rest will be demobilized.

“It’s fair” – summed up the secretary of the NSDC.

We will remind that in the last month, rallies in support of demobilization were held twice in Ukraine. Relatives and loved ones of the soldiers called on the authorities to determine the specific terms of service in the army by mobilization

Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada expanded the list of grounds for dismissal from military service during martial law.
