Iran intends to limit the range of ballistic missiles that the country plans to provide to Russia for the war in Ukraine. The main reason is fear of international reaction.

This is reported by the publication Axiosciting Israeli officials.

As noted in the article, the supply of Iranian ballistic missiles to an aggressor country may violate a UN Security Council resolution and trigger a mechanism that will re-impose UN sanctions on Iran.

According to a UN Security Council resolution adopted in 2015 as part of the nuclear deal, countries are not allowed to transfer or receive from Iran ballistic missiles and drones with a range of more than 300 kilometers and a payload of more than 500 kilograms until October 2023.

We will remind that Iran became one of the main military sponsors of Russia after the full-scale invasion. This support may increase in the coming months.

Earlier, Zelensky noted that Iran’s cooperation with Russia is a matter of global security.

It also became known that on Monday, December 12, the European Union adopted a new package of sanctions against Iran for the supply of weapons to Russia, which it uses for attacks on Ukraine, as well as restrictive measures in connection with gross violations of human rights by the Iranian authorities.
