More than 10,000 residents of the occupied territories have returned to Ukraine through the checkpoint in Sumy Oblast since the beginning of August this year.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories.

“Since the beginning of August, more than 10,000 Ukrainian citizens have been able to return to Ukraine through this checkpoint”said the message.

Most of them are people from the occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

It will be recalled that Ukraine opened the humanitarian corridor Kolotylivka – Pokrovka on the border of Belgorod and Sumy regions at the beginning of August. Iryna Vereshchuk reported that every day 170-200 people cross from Russia to Ukraine through this corridor.

In September, Ukraine returned 11 children from the occupied part of the Kherson region. Later, it was possible to take home two more children from the temporary occupation.
