“Since the beginning of the war, I have been calling for Russia to limit its income from the sale of energy resources, because through this the Kremlin supports its military industry,” Kallas said.

In Berlin, she met with her Latvian and Lithuanian colleagues Krisjanis Karins and Ingrida Simonyte. The meeting participants noted that the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin hopes that the West will be the first to lose patience and allegedly be ready to make concessions to the Russian Federation.

“We will not allow this to happen. Until Ukraine pushes Russia out of its territory, the free world must continue to isolate Russia and increase sanctions,” Kallas said.

The Estonian prime minister believes that the EU should quickly move on to the issue of the next, more powerful package of sanctions, and the flow of tourists from Russia should be significantly reduced.

  • On August 18, Estonia stopped letting Russian citizens into the country, who had previously issued visas.
  • Also in mid-August, Estonia decided to transfer more weapons to Ukraine and join the UAF exercises in Britain.
