Kuleba: Nothing much will be decided at the G20, but everyone is working to isolate Putin at the summit – Ukraine news, Politics

The upcoming G20 summit in Indonesia will not make decisions that will affect the Russian war against Ukraine, but the summit participants are working to ensure that the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin felt most isolated at the meeting. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Kuleba on the air of the telethon.

“All this is in the works, we discuss this story with the G20 every day – which Western leaders will be, whether they will meet with Putin. this meeting will change. Issues are being resolved in other places,” the Foreign Minister said.

He clarified that nothing much will change specifically for the Russian-Ukrainian war, since everything is decided on the battlefield.

“Other issues will be discussed there… There will also be not only countries that call a spade a spade and call Russia the name it deserves. There will also be those who play neutrality, who try to support Putin, at least morally,” – Kuleba said.

At the same time, he stressed that a few months ago, before the meeting of the G20 foreign ministers, “very large and scrupulous work” was carried out on how to conduct it in such a way that even in this format Russia would feel as isolated as possible and could not seriously affect the quality of decisions.

Kuleba said that this was achieved then at the ministerial level, and similar work is being carried out now – how to make Putin feel as isolated as possible and not be able to destructively influence any decisions of the summit.

  • The G20 leaders’ summit is scheduled for November. President of the U.S.A Joe Biden previously stated that he would go to him if there was no Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. But the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said that she was ready to go to express everything to the dictator in the face.
  • Zelensky’s visit to the G20 summit is still in doubt, the President’s Office said that the final decision will be made immediately before the meeting in Indonesia.
