“(Orbán. – Ord.) plays its own game with the European Union – and sometimes uses Ukraine as a hostage of these relations,” Kuleba said.

He also reminded the citizens of Hungary: no matter what they read in the media, Ukrainians do not feel hostility towards them.

“We were friends, we are friends and we will be friends. But we need to win this war, and it is in the interests of Hungary that Ukraine wins,” the Foreign Minister summed up.

  • In November, Orban provoked a scandal – he put on a scarf with a map of “big Hungary”, which includes the territories of Ukraine, Romania, Slovakia and a number of EU countries. Ukraine demanded an apology.
  • On November 24, the Hungarian media reported that Brussels allegedly froze 7.5 billion euros from EU funds destined for Hungary.
