Lithuania plans to allocate two million euros to Ukraine to solve the social consequences of the war unleashed by Russia.
This is reported by “European truthΒ» with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Lithuania.
As noted in the department, support will be provided through the tools of international financial institutions.
In particular, one million euros will be allocated to the fund of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which supports inclusiveness, and to the Ukrainian Solidarity Fund of the Development Bank of the Council of Europe, which supports social projects.
Lithuania will transfer funds to both of these funds by the end of this year.
“Ukraine’s strength lies in its people and their determination to fight the aggressor, therefore it is important to support not only the Ukrainian budget to preserve economic stability, but it is equally important to focus on the social consequences of the war,” said the Minister of Finance of Lithuania, Gintare Skaiste.
