Lucescu blamed Yarmolenko for Dynamo’s defeat against Aris

This is reported on the official website “Dynamo”.

In the third qualifying round of the tournament, on August 10, Kyiv lost to “Aris” in Thessaloniki with a score of 0:1, and the Romanian coach said after the game that the right winger of “Dynamo” Andriy Yarmolenko did not cope with his task and did not oppose the left defender of the Greek club Franko on the flank Ferrari.

“The opponents had opportunities to score two more times. In the first half, there were none, but in the second half, it was enough. Mainly, through the left flank, where Yarmolenko did not follow Ferrari, he made many very dangerous passes, and after that the opponent could to score. But our mistakes led to this,” Lucescu said.

He called the defeat of the Dynamo team against the Greek club well-deserved.

Aris deserved this victory, which they secured in the second part of the second half. Today’s game was even, we started playing too late to score – only after conceding. It was expected that the opponent would come out of the zones, which would give us space. They managed to score from the penalty spot. But there is another match ahead in Bucharest,” Lucescu said.

Yarmolenko returned to the Kyiv club after a six-year break. He played for “Dynamo” in 2007-2017. The winger joined the capital team as a free agent and has already played 3 matches for Kyiv and scored 2 goals.
