According to the results Eurobarometer surveythe majority of EU citizens support sanctions against Russia in connection with its invasion of Ukraine: 78% of Europeans surveyed were in favor of economic sanctions against Russian elites and businesses.

It is noted that 47% of Europeans fully agree with the sanctions against Russia, and another 31% agree rather than not.
“A standard survey conducted by the Eurobarometer in the summer of 2022 showed an increase in citizens’ confidence in the EU, as well as continued support for the EU’s response to Russian aggression against Ukraine,” the authors of the survey say.
The authors of the survey emphasize that the vast majority of Europeans are in favor of supporting Ukraine in connection with the war.
Thus, 92% of the polled EU citizens support the provision of humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
Nine out of ten Europeans are in favor of supporting Ukrainian refugees who go abroad because of the war.
Almost two-thirds (68%) of Europeans support the allocation of military aid for Ukraine from the European budget.
In general, 57% of Europeans surveyed are satisfied with how the European Union reacted to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. At the level of national governments, support was noted by 55% of the EU citizens surveyed.
The survey was conducted through personal and online interviews from June 17 to July 17, 2022. A total of 26,468 EU citizens were surveyed in 27 EU member states.
