The Kyiv Metro will resume normal operation on the morning of Saturday, December 17. The Underground will once again begin transporting passengers.

This was announced by the mayor of the capital Vitaliy Klitschko in Telegram this morning.

“This morning at 7:30 a.m. the Kyiv metro will resume operation”he wrote.

It should be noted that only an hour and a half before Klitschko’s announcement, the KMDA reported that the Kyiv subway continued to operate only as a shelter on December 17. “Kyivpastrans” launched buses that partially duplicate the work of the metro. And the townspeople will be additionally informed when train traffic will resume.

It will be recalled that the day before the rocket attacks, the Kyiv metro stopped transporting passengers. The reason is the lack of necessary power for the movement of trains as a result of the Russian attack on energy facilities.

Due to the complete blackout of the city on December 16, the metro also stopped in Kharkiv and Dnipro.

On Friday evening, Ukrenergo canceled the emergency situation in the energy sector.
