Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova reacted to the fragments of a Russian rocket that fell in the north of the country. Diplomats called the new attacks of the Russian Federation on Ukraine a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.

This is stated in the statement Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova.

“These attacks, which further exacerbate the security situation, are a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, which prohibits targeting civilians and their infrastructure,” the statement said.

In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova also criticized the attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. They indicated that this causes enormous economic and social damage to the entire European continent, including the citizens of Moldova, who are suffering the consequences of the war.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemns Russia’s use of energy resources as a weapon,” the ministry concluded.

The Russian occupiers launched a massive rocket attack on critical infrastructure objects in the morning of Monday, October 31. At the same time, the Ukrainian military managed to shoot down 44 out of 50 enemy missiles.

According to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, the Russian invaders damaged 18 facilities, most of which are energy facilities. In this connection, hundreds of settlements were cut off.

In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova reported that the wreckage of one of the missiles destroyed by the Ukrainian anti-aircraft system fell in the northern part of the country, on the border with Ukraine. It is reported that some houses have broken windows.
