More than 8,000 civilians have died as a result of Russian aggression in Ukraine. This was announced by the head of the department of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police Igor Kalantay in response to a request LIGA.net.
As noted, the GSU summarizes information about the dead civilians as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.
“To date, the investigative units of the National Police of Ukraine have recorded the deaths of more than 8,000 civilians,” the response, dated August 16, 2023, says.
It is clarified that the GSU does not take into account and does not summarize information on the number of dead and wounded civilians as a result of mine explosions and those who received mine-explosive injuries “due to mines and explosives in the fields, on the roadsides”, and also does not record and generalization of destroyed or damaged agricultural machinery as a result of its explosion on mines.
