“There is no money from the US Department of Defense, but several other countries, organizations and private individuals pay for the work of 11,000 terminals out of 25,000. SpaceX is losing about $20 million a month due to unpaid services and costs related to enhanced security measures for cyber defense, but we will continue to do it (sigh)”the billionaire wrote on Twitter.

No money from DoD, but several other countries, orgs & individuals are paying for ~11k/25k terminals (thanks!).

We will remind, it became known from the media that the company SpaceX turned to the Ministry of Defense of the United States with a request to finance the services of Starlink satellite Internet terminals in Ukraine.

Musk confirmed this information, but then said that SpaceX would still continue funding Starlink in Ukraine. “Damn it…even though Starlink is still losing money and other companies are getting billions of taxpayer dollars, we’re just going to keep funding the Ukrainian government for free”he wrote.

At the same time, the Pentagon and the European Union are discussing the possibility of financing the functioning of the Starlink system in Ukraine.
