NATO transfers new forces to the eastern borders – Stoltenberg

NATO is deploying new forces in European countries – this should be a signal to Russia that the Alliance is ready to defend its territories.

This is stated in statement of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg during a briefing with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.

He stated that NATO is moving new forces to the eastern borders to strengthen this flank.

For the sake of the future: Stoltenberg called on allies to support Ukraine despite the difficulties of the coming winterThe Secretary General of NATO stated that in winter the unity of the allies will undergo a serious test – there will be a threat of power outages and civil unrest. But we must continue to support Ukraine, otherwise the Russian Federation and other tyrannies will feel unpunished.

«This is an unequivocal signal that the organization will protect every inch of its territory“, – emphasized Stoltenberg.

At the same time, he commented on the war in Ukraine, saying that the Ukrainian military should continue fighting. The Secretary General noted that the Alliance will help Ukraine switch to NATO-style weapons.

“We will support Ukraine in the long term and help Ukraine transition from Soviet weapons to weapons made according to our standards“, he said.

Earlier, Stoltenberg called on the allies to support Ukraine, despite the difficulties of the coming winter.

We will remind that NATO members have started collecting winter uniforms for Ukrainian soldiers.
