On the right bank of the Kherson region, 35 settlements are currently flooded, on the left – the situation is critical.

Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, announced this on his Telegram channel on Saturday, June 10. He added that currently the average level of flooding in the Kherson region is 4.72 meters. Since the evening of June 9, the water has receded by 31 centimeters.

“On the right bank, 35 settlements were flooded, 3 thousand 763 houses were under water. The most flooded were in Kherson, Bilozerka and Zimivnyk,” said Prokudin.

Speaking about the Kakhov reservoir, the head of the OVA noted that since the beginning of the accident at the Kakhov hydroelectric plant, the water level there has dropped by 6 meters and 25 centimeters.

Prokudin also noted that a large-scale rescue operation is underway, involving almost 1,500 people and 345 pieces of equipment.

“Yesterday, it was possible to evacuate 248 people to safe areas. In total, volunteers, rescuers, and police rescued 2,588 people from the water trap,” he said.

The head of the OVA also reported that nine evacuation points were deployed in the region. “Left Bank: the situation remains critical. In Goliya Prystan and Veliko Kardashyn Starostat, the water receded by 20-30 centimeters, but the intensity of the subsidence has somewhat decreased,” Prokudin emphasized.

According to him, the Russian occupiers not only do not rush to help people, but also “threaten to shoot the locals who rushed to the rescue of their compatriots.”

Prokudin also noted that rain is forecast for the next few days in the region. “Tomorrow will be especially strong. So, another test awaits us. The rains will slow down the water’s decline a little. And, of course, will add extra trouble to people,” he said.

The undermining of the Kakhovskaya dam is worth knowing today

On the night of June 6, the Russian occupiers blew up the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, as a result of which dozens of settlements were flooded.

According to residents of the occupied left bank of the Kherson region, the Russian occupiers not only did not organize evacuation, but also forbade them to leave their homes and settlements, seized boats, and fired at people with machine guns and artillery.

The authorities of the Kherson region called on volunteers to temporarily refrain from visiting Kherson due to the intensification of Russian shelling.
