Ssecurity job exposed two former heads of the structural division of the Southern Railway in the Kharkiv region for collaborating with the enemy.
During the occupation of the region, they managed a strategically important railway junction in Kupyansk, through which the occupiers exported Ukrainian grain.
In addition, the collaborators managed the movement of Russian echelons with military equipment and ammunition to conduct hostilities against the Defense Forces in the eastern direction.
According to the investigation, the perpetrators are two former officials of the local division of Ukrzaliznytsia, who at the beginning of the full-scale invasion went over to the side of the aggressor.
There they joined the ranks of the occupation administration, where they were appointed the head of the Kupyansk railway maintenance service and his deputy.
In these “positions”, the collaborators helped the enemy to maintain railway connections with the aggressor country, and also monitored the effective use of rolling stock in the interests of the occupiers.
However, after the liberation of the city, SBU officers detained one of the suspects. The other fled to the Russian Federation at the beginning of de-occupation, where he is currently hiding from justice. The issue of declaring him wanted is being resolved.
Prosecutors exposed the “deputy chief”. For procedural guidance Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office both men were notified of suspicion based on the fact of collaborative activity (Part 4 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The “head” of the unit was notified of the suspicion in absentia, the issue of declaring him wanted is being resolved.
The pre-trial investigation and operative support are carried out by the employees of the SBU Office in the Kharkiv region.
