Deliveries of artillery installations will take place in the next few months.
The self-propelled guns will be produced at the Huta Stalowa Wola plant, which is part of the Polish Arms Group. At present, HSW’s production capacity is 20-30 units per year.
At the end of May, Poland already delivered 18 Krab self-propelled howitzers (three batteries) to Ukraine, and also trained 100 Ukrainian artillerymen to work with them.
The publication notes that the issue of providing ammunition “Crabs” remains acute. Poland on its own is not yet ready to produce them in the right quantity. Ammunition for the Ukrainian “Crabs” will certainly be provided by the Americans, suggests Dzennik.
Krab is a Polish self-propelled artillery mount of 155 mm caliber, compatible with NATO ammunition. For the production of the gun mount, a turret from the British AS-90 self-propelled guns with a 155 mm caliber barrel and a 52 caliber length is used. The maximum firing range is 40 km.
