Putin cannot be appeased. We must be relentless and push for Ukraine’s victory – Truss – Ukraine news, Politics

26 May British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss will issue a warning against Western attempts to “appease” Russian dictator Putin. About it informs Telegraph with reference to the British Foreign Office.

As noted, Truss will address the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The minister will demand an increase in arms supplies to Ukraine and stronger sanctions against Russia.

“Russian aggression cannot be pacified. It must be met with force,” Truss said. “We must prevent the development of a protracted and increasingly painful conflict in Ukraine.”

She will say that the West must learn the lessons of history after concessions were made to Putin, and he invaded Georgia, Crimea and the Donbass.

Truss will say: “We must be relentless and push for Ukraine’s victory through military assistance and sanctions. We can’t take our foot off the accelerator right now.”

  • On May 25, Italy, Hungary and Cyprus proposed that the EU call for a ceasefire in Ukraine and peace talks with Russia, sparking controversy with other bloc member states that are taking a hard line on Moscow ahead of a summit scheduled for next week.
