Russia is pursuing a consistent criminal policy of deporting our people – Zelensky’s appeal

Office of the President of Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky issued a new appeal on June 1, the 98th day of the war against the Russian occupiers. He said that 689 children had been injured in the days of the full-scale invasion. As far as we know, 446 children were injured and 243 died.

Basic with address of the President:

  • Every day now is a day of protection for us. Protect all our people. Protecting a free country where every child will be able to live the life he or she wants when he or she grows up. Without coercion and oppression.
  • During the 98 days of full-scale invasion, the occupiers struck 689 children. 446 children were injured, 243 children died. Another 139 went missing. And this is just what we know – not all the information from the territory that now remains occupied. Eternal memory to everyone whose life was taken by the Russian war against Ukraine!
  • About 12 million Ukrainian citizens were forced to flee their homes due to the war. More than 5 million have gone abroad, and the vast majority of them are women with children. We will do everything so that they can return home.
  • The aggressor country, Russia, is pursuing a consistent criminal policy of deporting our people. Forcibly removes adults and children. In total, more than 200,000 Ukrainian children were deported. These are orphans from orphanages, children with their parents, and children divorced from their families.
  • Today, the Ukrainian President awarded 380 participants in hostilities with state awards. In total, since the beginning of the full-scale war, 17,086 defenders of Ukraine have received orders and other awards.

We will remind, Zelensky repeated that Ukraine won’t concede to Russia any territories.

Earlier, Zelensky said that Ukraine needed long-range weapons to defend itself and unblock ports, not to attack Russia.

The President of Ukraine also voiced the approximate losses of the Armed Forces in the war.
